Day 1: Calgary, Alberta, Canada – Tour Begins   Get ready for an adventure that brings together the beautiful expanse of the prairies, the soaring majesty of the Canadian Rockies and the brilliance of Montana’s Glacier National Park. Your tour opens in the province of Alberta. Mingle with your fellow travelers during a cocktail reception this evening.

Day 2: Calgary – Columbia Falls, Montana, United States.   This morning, journey south to the prairie lands while enjoying distant views of the spectacular Rockies. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, one of the world’s oldest and best-preserved buffalo jumps, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Head-Smashed-In, in the foothills of the Rockies, has been used continuously by native people of the North American plains for over 5,500 years. A Blackfoot guide brings to life the culture of the Plains people, the Buffalo Hunt, and the many secrets uncovered in archaeological digs. Continue traveling south to Montana. En route, pass through quaint villages and travel along roads sometimes traversed by grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, cougars, wolves, moose and elk. Today breakfast will be included.

Day 3: Columbia Falls – Glacier National Park – Columbia Falls Spend the day experiencing Glacier National Park. A naturalist’s paradise, Glacier preserves over 1 million acres of forests, alpine meadows and lakes, and is home to over 70 species of mammals and 270 species of birds. Board one of its famous Jammer cars – built in the 1930s – and drive along one of the most breathtaking roads in North America. “Going to the Sun Road”* stretches across
the Continental Divide and offers incredible views of the valley and Glacier National Park. This evening, enjoy a true western experience during an outdoor BBQ** and live entertainment at a dude ranch. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 4: Columbia Falls – Banff, Alberta, Canada.  Relax during your journey to Banff and soak in a backdrop of wonderful wildlife and the majestic Canadian Rockies. Arrive in Banff and settle into your hotel for a relaxing 3-night stay. Tonight, it’s Diner’s Choice…your dinner is included and you’ll choose the
perfect spot from a “menu” of Banff’s great restaurants. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 5: Banff.  This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Banff area including stops at the lovely Bow Falls and the fascinating Hoodoos, also known as the “Land of Sleeping Giants.” Later, visit a local ammolite specialist and learn about this rare gemstone that is found only in Alberta. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Perhaps you will choose to browse through the shops and museums or just take in the natural beauty of the area. Today breakfast will be included.

Day 6: Icefields Parkway – Choice of Glacier Experience or Glacier Skywalk.  A wonderful day of sightseeing awaits as we set out along the unforgettable Icefields Parkway and behold lofty waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped mountain ranges. Stop at the Columbia Icefield where it’s your choice! Choose a fun ride*** across this mass of glacial ice which is over 1,000 feet thick – the largest accumulation of ice south of the Arctic
Circle. Or, take a walk on the Glacier Skywalk to experience the breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley and witness the dramatic landscape from the glass-floored platform. This afternoon, stop at stunning Peyto Lake, a turquoise glacier-fed lake that evokes pure serenity. Be on the lookout for bears and stately elk on your return to Banff. Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 7: Banff – Calgary.  Leave the wonders of the Rockies for the prairies of Alberta en route to the Kananaskis Valley. Visit a local ranch where you can
play a game of horseshoes, take a line dance lesson and enjoy a wagon ride in search of buffalo. Meet the family that lives there to gain insight into their daily life on the ranch. Then, delight in a traditional Albertan barbecue with beautiful views of the mountains in the background. Later, enjoy the views of the prairies before you reach the vibrant city of Calgary. Today breakfast and lunch will be included.

Day 8: Calgary.  Your adventure comes to a close**** today, leaving you with a wealth of memories from your outstanding journey to two of the
world’s most beautiful areas: the incomparable Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park. Today breakfast will be included.

Experience It! ______________ The Icefields Parkway
Your tour of the Canadian Rockies features a drive along the incredible Icefields Parkway. Paralleling the Great
Divide, this special roadway is home to some of the most dramatic vistas in all of North America. Here, snowcapped
mountains engulf the landscape, casting shadows on the adjacent glacial streams. During the 1800s, a similar route
was used by the fur traders. The first roadway was built in the 1930s and the present parkway was completed by
1965. Highlighting your trip along the Icefields Parkway is a stop at the Columbia Icefield – a dramatic 200 square
mile stretch of land filled with glaciers. Here you may have an opportunity to ride across a 1,000 foot thick glacier or
walk on the Glacier Skywalk.
